SMS calorie tracker

Marco is an SMS-capable calorie and macro tracker. Text what you ate from any phone that can send SMS (or RCS); Marco matches USDA-backed nutrition data and replies with your totals. iPhone users can also use iMessage.

Why SMS still matters

Not everyone lives in iMessage. SMS and RCS cover Android and cross-platform households. A calorie tracker that only works in Apple Messages leaves half your group chat behind.

How SMS logging feels

Same product idea as iMessage: one message describing the meal, one reply with calories and macros. Delivery uses the carrier channel your phone already has.

  • “subway turkey on wheat, no cheese”
  • “large coffee with oat milk”
  • “calories left today?”

Data and privacy basics

Meals are stored in your Marco account as structured logs — not left only in a fragile SMS transcript. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

Frequently asked questions

Does Marco work over SMS?

Yes. Marco supports SMS and RCS as well as iMessage, so Android and iPhone users can both log by text.

Is SMS tracking as good as an app?

For many people it sticks longer because there is nothing to open. Nutrition matching still uses USDA-backed sources — the channel is just Messages.

Will SMS use my plan’s text allotment?

Standard carrier messaging rates may apply depending on your plan. Most unlimited plans treat these like normal texts.
