MarcoLearn
RCS and SMS nutrition tracker
Marco is an RCS- and SMS-capable nutrition tracker. Android users text meals over SMS or RCS where supported; Marco replies with calories and macros using USDA-backed matching. iPhone users can use iMessage or SMS — same product, no iMessage-only lock-in.
Android without a sideloaded tracker
You should not need a special app binary to log lunch. If Google Messages (or your default SMS app) can text, you can reach Marco.
RCS vs SMS
RCS offers richer chat features when both sides support it; SMS remains the compatibility baseline. Marco’s logging idea is the same on either channel: describe the meal, get macros back.
Why not iMessage-only tools
Some text trackers only serve Apple Messages. That fails mixed households and Android-first users. Cross-platform messaging support is a hard requirement for a universal text tracker.
| Channel | Typical device | Marco |
|---|---|---|
| iMessage | iPhone | Supported |
| SMS | iPhone / Android | Supported |
| RCS | Android (when available) | Supported |
Same accuracy goals
Channel is delivery. Matching still targets FoodData Central and published facts, with clarifying questions when needed.
Frequently asked questions
Does Marco work on Android?
Yes — via SMS or RCS. You do not need iMessage.
Is RCS required?
No. SMS is enough. RCS is used when your device and carrier provide it.
Is this different from the iPhone product?
Same Marco tracker — different transport. Features like goals, macros, and history apply across channels.
